HealthLens - Medical Simplifier
An innovative web utility prototype designed to translate complex medical diagnostic terms into patient-friendly terminology.
Project Overview
Medical documents, lab metrics, and clinical summaries are frequently filled with obscure medical jargon that causes undue stress and confusion for patients. **HealthLens** was designed to address this challenge by providing an easy-to-use parser utility.
The application accepts copy-pasted medical logs or uploaded report summaries and scans the text against a structured dictionary of clinical terms. It automatically replaces complex jargon with simple descriptions and provides contextual explanations, improving readability for elderly and non-technical users.
Key Features & Goals
- Jargon Dictionary Parser: Converts clinical jargon (like "hyperlipidemia") into simple definitions ("high cholesterol").
- Elderly-Friendly UI/UX: Designed with large accessible typography controls, high contrast display options, and clean screen reading hooks.
- Offline-First Capabilities: Parses content locally in the web browser ensuring patient document privacy is fully preserved.
- Visual Summary Graph: Maps general health metrics (blood count, sugar levels) onto simple colored status sliders.
